Trap, Spay/Neuter and Release (TNR)

The Animal Rescue Center is a strong supporter of trap-neuter-release programs. Such programs humanely decrease the number of feral (non-domesticated) cats and kittens.

TNR programs use humane traps to capture feral cats and kittens. These animals are taken to veterinarians to be spayed or neutered, and then the animal is released back to its original location (back to its colony).

Assuming there is a consistent and safe food source, TNR programs permit feral cats to live in their colonies; however, the cats cannot increase their numbers by reproducing.

The Animal Rescue Center is always willing to help individuals interested in controlling the number of feral cats and kittens in their area. Please contact us if we can assist you with TNR.
